Outreach & Marketing

A key aspect of any export promotion program is targeting companies likely to take advantage of the program.  According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 287,000 U.S. companies are identified as exporters. Nearly 98 percent of these companies were small- or medium-sized with fewer than 500 employees. Identifying firms that export (or have export potential) and determining how best to reach them is an important aspect of any export promotion program.

This section covers outreach and marketing activities to identify and recruit companies into export programs, or to make them aware of export opportunities and available services.
